History and Description

A Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (Lewis, 1837)

Bawnlahan was once called Castlejane, possibly after one Jane Beecher, who was the wife of The O'Donovan chieftain.

An old name for Myross Wood is Blath na Greine (blossom of the sun).

Cappagh does not appear in official placenames for Myross, but might be part of Bawnlahan.
