A Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (Lewis, 1837)

This parish, along with Tullagh and several islands, comprised the the O'Driscoll Mór territory Collymore.

The Creagh part of Skibbereen was once called New Stapleton and was owned by a branch of the Phane Beechers of Bandon.
