A Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (Lewis, 1837)
•Caheragh has its origins as an ancient parish. The church parish of the same name lies within its boundaries. In a Papal document from 1199, it was called Cill-Odhrain, or the church of St. Odrain.
•Bunalun was formerly named Mountmusic.
•Bishop's Land was an old name for a part of the townland of Caheragh.
•A part of Dromcorragh is called Reidh (possibly written as Rea).
•Clohydaniel, also called Cloghdonnell, was part of Garrane (formerly Garrane Beg and Garrane More.)
•Additional old townland names for which the modern equivalent is unknown: Carrignagranoga (might be part of Cooragannive); Gneeve; Gurthnakilla; Parkeen (might be part of Aghaville).
