I, Stephen Barry, Commissioner, duly appointed and sworn (under by Virtue of an Act made in the second and third years of the reign of King William the Fourth, entitled, "An Act to amend three Acts passed respectively in the Fourth and Fifth, and in the Seventh and Eighth years of the Reign of his late Majesty, King George the Foruth, providing for the establishing of Compositions for Tithes in Ireland, and to make such Compositions permanent"), to ascertain, and fix a true and just Composition for TIthes arising, growing, yielded or payable within the Parish of Castleventry, in the Diocese of Ross and County of Cork - Do hereby Certify, that the sum of Three Hundred and Thirty-one Pounds, Eighteen Shillings, is the fair and true average of all Sums paid, or agreed to be paid, for all Tithes whatever with the said Parish, for the Seven Years previous to the 1st of November, 1830; and that the Sum of 260 pounds is a fair and just Composition for all said Tithes, being the full Sum which Winspear Toye, Esq. (Agent to the Vicar the Rev. Horace Townsend,) Michael Roberts, Esq., Lay Improprieteor, and John Drew Atkin, Esq. (Agent to Thomas Wade Foot, Esq., Lay Improperiator,) offered to take as Composition for all said Tithes, at a special Vestry of the Parish held on the 23rd of September, 1822 - if which Sum of 260 pounds, one half part is due and payable to the Rev. Horace Townsend as Vicar of said Parish - one fourth part is due and payable to Thomas Wade Foot, esq. as Lay Improprietor. And I do further Certify, that the average Price of Wheat, being the Corn principally grown in said County, for the period of Seven years, ending on the 1st of November, 1830, is One Pound Twelve Shillings and One Halfpenny British, as published in teh Dublin Gazette. Dated this Twenty-second day of October, 1833
