The town and liberties of Youghal were included in the borough. The liberties were approximately coterminous with the civil parish of the same name.
The town was originally bounded by the ancient wall and the shoreline, but grew beyond those constraints.
Youghal is within the land boundaries of the Barony of Imokilly and of the Barony of Kinnatalloon.
