We should be glad to get some information about the family and relatives of George Swanton and his wife, Anne Harris O'Neill who resided in East Schull in 1863, when a son George, who subsequently joined the British navy, was born. There were three other children - Richard, who was drowned in an excursion trip in the vicinity of his home; James, who went to Australia, and Ann, who married an O'Neill. Ann and her husband went to Australia, leaving at home a son who followed them in 1883. George Swanton of the Navy married Ellen Galvin at the Catholic Church, Cove, in 1886.
