We the undersigned having been
duly appointed and sworn as commisioners to assess
and applot upon the the parish of Ballyfeard in the Diocese
of Cork the annual sum of one hundred and thirty
pounds sterling being the amount of the composition
agreed to be paid by said parish to the Vicar of said parish,
the Reverend Nicholls. Cole Bowen, (the same having been approved
of by the Bishop of said Diocese) for the term of
twenty one years, in lieu of tithes, do certify
that the annexed is an accurate and correct
valuation and applotment, made to the best of
our skill and judgment without favour or
partiality, the average being ascertained by old
maps and surveys. Given under our
hands this 30th day of May one thousand
eight hundred and twenty seven.

I John Kidd Commissioner, duly appointed and sowrn, under and by virtue of an act made in the second and third years of the reign of His Majesty King William the Fourth entitled an act to amend three acts padded respectively in the fourth, fifth and in the seventh and eighth years of the reign of his majesty King George the Fourth providing for the establishing of compositions for tithes in Ireland and to make such compositions permanent (16th August 1834) to ascertain and fix a true and just composition for all tithes arising, growing, yielded or payable within the parish of Ballyfeard in the County of Cork, do hereby certify that the true and just amount of composition for all tithes whatever within the said parish is two hundred and thirty pounds by the year, of which sum of two hundred and thirty pounds, the sum of one hundres and thirty pounds is due and payable to the Reverend Nichols Cole Bowen as Vicar of said parish, under by virtue and according to the terms of a composition already entered into for same, as appears by cer- tificate dated 30th May 1827, and by corresponding applotment both deposited in the Registry Office of the Diocese of Cork. The remainder of said sum of two hundred and thirty pounds; that is to say, the sum of one hundred pounds is due and payable to Achilles Daunt Esq under and by virtue of a lease from Lord Viscount Shannon, lay improprietor of the rectorial tithe, of said parish, said lease bearing date the thirtieth of November 1699 for a term of nine hundred and ninety nine years from said date.
And I do further certify that the average price of wheat during the seven years ended first November 1830 (thirty) was one pound 12 shillings and one halfpenny per barrel, and that the price of oats during the same period was twelve shillings and eleven pence halfpenny per barrel; wheat and oats being the corn principally grown in said County of Cork.
