Harrington (Ó hIongardail) is a name seen around West Cork and County Kerry. As is common in southern Munster, they used many secondary names.
Among the secondary names were Cahera (were they from Caheragh?); Caska, Caskey and Causka; Cawpey and Cope; Duve; Glanny; Ceabough, Kebogh and Keobough; Mountaugh; and Trokerre. These names appear in TABS for the Castletown and Bantry districts.
A few church records around Skibbereen show that the local priests may have interchanged Harrington and Hourihane.
See the Riobard Ó Dwyer books.
This section will list interesting genealogical record references as they are discovered.
